Today’s Question: “How do you get subluxations?”

There are three basic causes of subluxations:

1. Physical – causes could include slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions and improper lifting.

2. Emotions – such as grief, anger, and fear can cause subluxations.

3. Chemical – causes could include alcohol, drugs, pollution, and poor diet.

Today’s Question: “How long until I will feel better?”

Some patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover it can take many weeks or months. Many factors can affect the healing process. How long have you had your problem? Are you keeping your appointments? Are you getting the proper rest, exercise and nutrition? Do you smoke? Are you in otherwise good condition? Within a short period of time, most patients sense enough progress to fully carry out Dr. Grahams recommendations.

Today’s Question: “Can Chiropractors adjust newborns? Why should my newborn get adjusted?”

I have heard both of these questions a number of times lately, and for that reason I feel it’s time to highlight this for some of the new moms and dads and/or expecting moms and dads that are seen in this office. “Can Chiropractors adjust newborns?” “Why should my newborn get adjusted?” YES! Even today’s childbirth methods can affect an infant’s spine. Preliminary studies suggest that colic, unusual crying, poor appetite, ear infections, or erratic sleeping habits can be signs of spinal distress. Pediatric adjustments are gentle, but effective! Knowing exactly where to adjust, the doctor applies no more pressure than you would use to test the ripeness of a tomato.

I always suggest getting baby checked out as soon as mom and/or dad get the opportunity. We have seen infants as young as a few days old, and with regular check ups/adjustments parent’s always tell us what a difference they see in their baby’s overall health, mood, sleeping habits, feeding habits, etc …

Today’s Question: “Why should I continue chiropractic care even after I’m feeling better?”

After symptoms disappear that does not mean your subluxations are corrected. A lot of the patients seen in our office have spinal degeneration (decay) which has taken years to develop. The trauma of the birth process, slips, falls, accidents, and countless other stresses over your lifetime adversely affect the health of your spine. It has been our experience that those who stop care when they are “feeling better” return with the same health challenges that brought them to our office in the first place, only it’s usually gotten worse. On the other hand, those who commit to long-term, wellness chiropractic care find their health challenge(s) rarely return and are able to enjoy a much healthier higher quality of life.

Don’t wait until things feel worse, call and schedule an appointment today!
